Glossary
Glossary: a locale is a language or region, such as en-us or fr-ca, in which you serve a different version of your content within one instance.
A locale is a language or region, such as en-us or fr-ca, in which you serve a different version of your content. Locales live inside an instance and are added in Settings > Locales. Adding one is close to permanent: you can disable a locale yourself, but deleting one needs Agility support.
When you copy an item into another locale, the copies share the same contentID, each has its own field values, and each locale publishes on its own schedule. Use locales for languages and regions of the same site, not to represent different sites.
