Glossary
Glossary: linked content is a field type that links an item or component to other content, either as shared content or as nested child content.
Linked content is a field type that links a content item or component to other content items. Every linked content field stores the reference name of the content list it points to. There are two main kinds: shared content, which reuses an existing list or items in it, and nested content, which creates child items that belong only to the parent.
The field's render option sets how editors choose items: a dropdown, checkbox list, search list box or grid. Dropdown, checkbox and search list box fields save the selected content IDs and display text in companion hidden fields, usually named {Field}_ValueField and {Field}_TextField.
